Support the South Yorkshire Forest’s community tree-planting scheme and give someone special a gift that grows…

Tree sponsorship costs from as little as £12. This will purchase a tree for a site in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley or Doncaster, and ensure that it is nursed during the first four years of its life to give it a good chance of surviving in the long term. Despite this, it is important to understand that not all the trees planted will survive, and in the very long term some may even be subject to thinning in order to keep the woodland as a whole in a healthy state. The trees we plant are all native to the area; we choose species according to the needs and conditions of the site. Usually there will be a mix that may include Rowan, Oak, Silver Birch, Hazel and Alder, each contributing its unique qualities to the biodiversity of the new wooded area.

Sponsors all receive an invitation to help plant the sponsored trees at a community event during the planting season (October – March). We will also send you, or the recipient of your gift, a certificate of tree sponsorship, complete with your personal message or dedication.
